Community Advisory Board

The Community Advisory Board is a group of experienced open source practitioners and potential users of AppHub.
While AppHub is being developed, they help the project team define the template of our charter on open source project management best practices. They also provide early feedback and guidelines.

Francesco Chicchiriccò

CEO of Tirasa, Francesco Chicchiriccò creates and leverages Open Source tools for Enterprise Integration. He is currently Apache Software Foundation member, Apache Syncope PMC chair, Apache Cocoon PMC Member and Apache Olingo PPMC member. He contributes to the adoption of Open Source software in enterprise environments, with particular reference to Identity & Access Management (IAM).


Roberto Di Cosmo

Roberto Di Cosmo is a computer scientist and director of IRILL, the Innovation and research initiative for free software (French: Initiative pour la Recherche et l'Innovation sur le Logiciel Libre).Di Cosmo was an early member of the AFUL, association of the French community of Linux and Free Software users, he's also known for his support in the Open Source Software movement. He was one of the founders, and the first president, of the Open Source Thematic Group within the Systematic innovation cluster. Di Cosmo is a member of the Board of Trustees at the IMDEA Software Institute.


Sophie Gautier

Member of the project since its beginning, and a founding member of The Document Foundation and LibreOffice, Sophie Gautier takes active part in the French and international community. Responsible for the translation of the help and LibreOffice user interface in French, she currently works as a release manager and administrative assistant for the Foundation.


Lars Kurth

Lars Kurth joined Citrix in 2011 where he works as community manager for the Xen Project. Lars is also the chairman of the Xen Project Advisory Board, which is comprised of 13 companies that fund the Xen Project. He is a passionate open source enthusiast who worked with and for many open source communities over the years and contributed to GCC, Eclipse, Symbian and Xen. Lars is an IT generalist with 17 years of industry experience in infrastructure, cloud, tools and mobile industries working at ARM, Citrix, Nokia and the Symbian Foundation. Lars has spoken at OSCON, Oredev, LinuxCon, EclipseCon, Scale and other conferences


Nelson Lago

Nelson Lago is the technical Manager of the FLOSS Competence Center at the University of Sao Paulo. He has a Masters in Computer Science with papers published in Brazil and abroad and he has given many presentations on free software.


Theo Lynn

Dr. Theo Lynn is Business Innovation Platform Director at Dublin City University and Senior Lecturer at DCU Business School. He is Leading business research at the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce, an Enterprise Ireland/IDA funded industry-led research centre located at Dublin City University. He is directing the Techspectations digital marketing and e-business initiative. He is a Partner in The 30/60 Partnership Seed Capital Fund. He has established and grew three ICT businesses & has over 15 years experience in setting up and bringing ICT products and professional services to market.


Dave Neary

Dave Neary is community manager for the OpenDaylight project. As part of the Open Source and Standards team at Red Hat, he is driving adoption and community growth for projects including oVirt, RDO, a distribution of OpenStack for Red Hat-based operating systems, Gluster, and Fedora. Dave is currently concentrating on projects related to Network Function Virtualization and Software Defined Networking. Dave has been active in free and open source communities for more than 15 years as a consultant, community manager, trainer and developer.


Patrick Ohnewein

Deputy Coordinator for the Free Software Foundation in Europe, Patrick Ohnewein is Head of Free Software & Open Technologies Department at TIS innovation park in South Tyrol. Team leader of project managers with specialization in the coordination of various European Research & Development Projects in the field of SMART Tourism, SMART Mobility, SMART Energy and SMART Food. He and his team promote a strategy for innovation build on top of Open Data, Open Standards and Free Open Source Software


Wei-Tek Tsai

Dr. Wei-Tek Tsai received his B.S. from Computer Science and Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology at Cambridge in 1979, M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of California at Berkeley in 1982 and 1986.

He is now Professor of Computer Science and Engineering in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. He has authored more than 300 papers in software engineering, service-oriented computing, and cloud computing. He travels widely and has held various professorships in Asia and Europe.


Manuel Velardo

The CENATIC General Manager is an Open Source expert with private and public sectors background and strong IT skills. Engaging with communities to foster value, he has worked for the financial sector and public administrations, mainly in IT strategy, Open Innovation and R&D domains.
